December 28, 2005The Weird PlacesToday's Warped site comes to us courtesy of the Internet. Since all of the sites we visit are already on the web, what makes this one so unique or special. For one thing, it is from a country where English is not a native language. Also, just a few short years ago, this type of communications would have been next to impossible. But thanks to the web, we can go international for our Warped fix. The site is called The Weird Places, and is hosted in The Netherlands, a very interesting country to visit. What makes this site so interesting to visit is that the categories are divided into Weird 1, Weird 2, Weird 3, etc., etc. So you never get a chance to see where exactly you are going, or what is going to pop up when you do go there. For example, Weird 1 takes to such places as the 28 hour day, and the Useless Pages (no, not the ones from the government). Weird 5 has I Wanna Be Famous and The Dumb Network (again, not to be confused with a government site). So it is the both the variety and the randomness, as well as the unknown aspect that makes this such an appealing site. The Warp-o-Meter gives this one a 9.0, making it one to spend some time at. Some of the sites are not in English, but to me that adds to the appeal of the sites. Posted by rich at December 28, 2005 02:18 AM | TrackBack |
