January 25, 2006The Launch PadThe subject matter of this site has usually been aimed at a mature adult audience. So today, for a change of pace, I thought we would try and find a warped and weird site for the younger members of our audience. For the smaller ones, those terms will have a different meaning. I think today's site is one that will fit in with their concept of that type of site. The site is called The Launch Pad. It is a link to children's program sites. What caught my eye in looking at it was the link to the DAFT Hatchlings. This is the home page for the Disney Afternoon File Time mailing list. My children were daffy about the Disney Afternoon shows, such as Tale Spin, DuckTales, Goof Troop, Bonkers, and Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, among others. The Center for Volatile Creative Types has some great Disney material as well. The Space Ghost pages are very creative, as are the Reboot Sites. There are some other interesting site that are out of the ordinary, and are intended for kids. You would feel safe in letting your younger ones surf these sites, but it could be more fun doing it together. The Warp-o-Meter gives this site a 7.5 with the scale adjusted for younger audiences.
