October 28, 2006Seventies Dance Music PageThe sixties were a decade of both social and economic changes for our country. The eighties saw technology take off and take us into the science fiction nineties. But what about the seventies? That was time that saw music dominate our culture, the effects of which are still being felt today. So put on your boogie shoes and head on over to the Warped site of today. The site is called Seventies Dance Music Page. You can almost feel that disco fever coming out of your monitor. This is a site that is dedicated to the sounds of that decade. Here you can rediscover the bands that made dancing so much fun, like the Village People, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, and the BeeGees. The author has created his own top 200 hit parade featuring not just the songs, but the groups as well. You can listen to clips from the songs, as well as see what albums they were on, and links to official and unofficial sites. You can almost see that disco ball coming down from the ceiling, can't you. Just hearing some of these songs brings back memories of... well, that is for another column. The Warped site rating of this site is 8.0, which means that it has seen the lava lamp glow, and is putting on his dancing shoes. Posted by rich at October 28, 2006 03:59 AM |
