January 31, 2006Seize the TimeToday's Warped site visits someone who has had a major impact on the airwaves we use to listen to the radio. Not satisfied with hitting the airwaves, he has now hit the space waves. Radio will never be the same after January 9, 2006, as you will see when you visit this very warped site. The site is called Seize the Time, and is the home page for one Howard Stern. For over 25 years, Howard has been one of the most controversial figures on radio. He not only defined the envelope for what should be on the airwaves, he sold them the paper it was made of. His clashes with the FCC are legendary, and thanks to that agency, he has left terrestrial radio, and is now broadcasting on the Sirius Satellite Radio Network. As a Sirius subscriber, I can say that the lack of FCC interference has made his show more entertaining and enjoyable. Here at his website you can follow his on the air activities, as well as those of his well-known staff, and the other shows on his two Sirius channels. That's right, he has two Sirius channels to himself, and the programming reflects that. It is still in it's embryonic stages, but it is constantly evolving on a daily basis. For instance, he has just added ex-Partridge Family bad boy Danny Bonaduce for a week as host of his own show. Not to mention Bubba the Love Sponges show in the afternoon. This is a totally warped site, one for Stern fans and non-Stern fans alike. Love him or hate him, you have to admit that he has class, style, and does things on his terms. I only wonder if satellite radio is big enough for him? Posted by rich at January 31, 2006 12:26 AM |
