Jerry Lewis Comedy Museum and Store

One of the funniest, and most beloved, comedians of our times is Jerry Lewis. With his partner Dean Martin, they became one of the funniest comedy teams ever. As a solo artist, his movies from the 1960s are classics. His Labor Day telethons have become legendary, and raised millions for muscular dystrophy. He is truly America's Clown Prince, and today we take a look at his site.

The site is called the Jerry Lewis Comedy Museum and Store. Here you will be able to find interesting details about his life, his career, and his family. For example, did you know that he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1977? He has appeared before the Queen of England, and many US Presidents. He was awarded the French Legion of Honor in 1984. His career has transcended his stereotypical clown antics in front of the camera, to writing, producing, and directing behind it. Much of today's technology in films is due to his demand for technical perfection in his films, and the box office clout that he had to get it.

Watching a Jerry Lewis film is great fun. He was able to make us all laugh so hard our sides hurt, and he did so in a way that was not offensive. No political correctness needed in his films, they were just plain fun and funny. That may be why they are not making that kind of entertainment anymore. Warp-o-Meter rating: 7.5.
