July 01, 2006The First Virtual Mousepad MuseumSome people collect stamps. Others collect coins. My grandmother liked to collect matchbook covers. I'm not sure why, but she did. It is amazing what people will collect, and even more amazing what they do with their collections. Today we take a look at a site that has a collection of something that most of us have used at one time or another. The site is The First Virtual Mousepad Museum. Here is a site that features over 1400 mousepads, with pictures of 250 online. You can browse through the collection by clicking on 'The Gallery' in the left column. To find out more about mousepads, click on 'background'. Here you will find the official documents of the first patented mousepad, stories about mousepads and more information about the history of mousepads. There is also a link to view the most popular ones, and a comment section. The webmaster welcomes scans of pads the he does not have, and even has a gallery for them. It is also possible to send him a physical mousepad. You also can get a virtual visitors button to display on your own website. Interesting collection, well organized, and open to interaction with the public. The Warp-o-Meter gives this site a 7.0 rating, and is looking for a mousepad to send in.
