Oly-hay Ible-bay

It is that time of the year, the time we celebrate the birth of Jesus. His birth is told in detail in the New Testament of the Bible, in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Over the years, the Bible has gone through many translations, different languages, and as a result, have different meaning to different people. I remember reading the Cotton Patch Epistles for a different slant on the Word. Today we take a look at another translation, one that again has a different translation, but still has the same Message.

The name of the site is Oly-hay Ible-bay. This is, to the author's knowledge, the first complete translation of the Bible into Pig Latin. With work, that means that there are now 319 translations of the entire Bible; the New Testament has now been translated into 845 languages, and parts of the Bible have been rendered into 1629 tongues. Whew, that's a lot of work.

It is the writer's sincere hope that his work will be of value to scholars, researchers, native speakers of Pig Latin, and all those who wish to further their understanding of scripture by seeing it presented in new terms. As it is said, "In-ay e-thay eginning-bay as-way e-thay Ord-way." It is also his hope that his work will accelerate the movement toward incorporating Pig Latin into our educational system. Pig Latin is one of the easiest foreign languages to learn.

Like it or hate it, the Word of God is the Word of God, no matter what shape or form it takes. Whether it be a burning bush, a voice from the sky, or the pages on a computer screen, it still says the same. Peace on Earth, good will toward men. There is no rating on this site, who can rate the Word.
