George Carlin

Today's Warped site is dedicated to one of my favorite comedians (and one of the most warped people I know). George Carlin. He has had a long and storied career, and is still one of the funniest (and original) people around.

This is his official home page and web site. Here you read about his career, his comedy albums, books, TV appearances, all of that good stuff. His most famous moment is when he became caught up in the FCC obscenity case of the 1970's that defined what could and could not be said on public airways. You may have heard his bit "The Seven Words You Can's Say on Television". That bit was actually read into the official Supreme Court decision that defined what the FCC can and cannot regulate on the public airwaves. More recently, Howard Stern and Janet Jackson have felt their wrath, but George was there first.

He has has some health issues of the past few months, but I feel as long as he can open his mouth, he will be making people laugh. But not only laugh, but also think, because his humor makes us all reflect on what exactly it is that we are laughing at. Keep up the good work, George.
