October 21, 2006Earth CamAre there places that you have ever wanted to go to, but just don't have the 1) time, 2) money, or 3) transportation. Well, today's Warped site can help you visit some of those places by providing you with all three of those. The name of the site is Earth Cam. One of the most fascinating aspects of the Internet is the the ability to go to places all over the world without leaving the comfort of your living room or armchair. Using technology, it is also possible to see and hear what is happening in those faraway places. Webcams are everywhere. For example, if you want to see what is going on in Detroit or St. Louis, where the baseball World Series will be played, there are many cameras from those cities. But you're not limited to the United States. You can go anywhere in the world, from Japan to London, from Buenos Aires to Anchorage. There are also some suggestions on setting up your own webcam and how to get it running. So it is now possible to save some bucks and do your sight seeing from home. You don't get the smell and the souvenirs, but then again you don't have to go through customs, and you don't have to worry about dirty laundry. The Warp-o-Meter gives this site an 8.5 rating, one that is well deserved. Posted by rich at October 21, 2006 04:00 AM |
