Stupid

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or so the saying goes. But it accurately describes today's Warped website. There are some items here that will give some the willies and some will just flat out enjoy themselves.

The site is called Stupid, and in some aspects it succeedes in spades. What are some of the high points to the site. Well, does ear wax candy appeal to you. How about tattoo sleeves (for that special night when you want to look like Jesse James without the arm art). the crime scene towel, or the once-bitten cookie cutter. My special favorite is the Unusual Action Figures (like Leonardo DaVinci and Sigmund Freud).

This site has quite a bit of fun here, and at first it may turn off some visitors. But underneath it all is a very dry sense of humor that will make even the most dead pan visitor laugh. The Warp-o-Meter, fresh back from calibration, gives this site a 9.

Joey Green

I have a lot of respect for off beat and unusual thinking. Going outside of the envelope can be trend setting, and a lot of fun. Today's Warped site is by someone who had managed to not just push the envelope, he went right through it. He has managed to get Jay Leno to shave using peanut butter. He got Rosie O'Donnell to mousse her hair with Jello. And he even got Barbara Walters to put a wet pampers on her head. Want more? Then click on, my friends.

Joey Green is a person whose website we visit today. To me, he is the consummate consumer's nightmare. Not only does he have a ton of uses for common everyday products, but he as some of the most weird facts about those products. For the mad scientist in all of us, he shows us some safe and fun things to do with them (Would you beliwve, exploding life savers?).

There is quite a bit to do at this site. Books to look at and order, media clips and information, and videos on what he has done. There is even a chance to win a free book with the monthly drawing that is held. The Warp-o-Meter is out for calibration this weekend, but if it was here, this site would register a strong 8.5 for it's sheer lunacy.

Ghosts of the Prairie

It's the Halloween season, and spooks are in the air. At least, they are on the Internet. Today's Warped site takes us to a place that would make the Addams Family feel at home; in other words "...it's creepy and it's kooky, mysterious and spooky..."

The site is called Ghosts of the Prairie, the Travel Guide to the History and Hauntings of Illinois and Beyond. There is a true spirit of Halloween here, including the Chicago Hauntings Black Ball and the Bump In The Night Tour Company.

There is quite a bit of paranormal material here, with information on books and movies. It takes some time to wander through all of the material, but the reviews and information contained makes it worth the time invested. Be sure to check out "Ghost Tech", the new haunted house field guide to paranormal investigation equipment. Do I hear Dr. Vinkman calling?

So if you are wanting to become an armchair Ghostbuster, or even thinking about getting out of the armchair, this site will help you get going. The Warp-o-Meter registers a 7.5 on this site, mostly because the ghosts here aren't all that warped.

Today's Pun

Today's Warped site is not really warped, it is more of a groaner. Not a bad groan, but a good groan. One that comes after reading some of the subject matter on this site.

Today's Pun is a great site for a lot of pun. It is a great collection of that well-known form of joke, the pun. Just to refresh your memory on what a pun is, well, here you go:

"As an auto mechanic, I was no good in the clutch!"

Again?

"I LEFT MY JOB AS A PROFESSIONAL FISHERMAN. I REALIZED I COULD NOT LIVE ON MY NET INCOME."

One more, you say?

"I wanted to be an author, but it just didn't seem right!"

Okay, okay, you get the idea. There are quite a few good laughs at this site, some better than others, but a good time will be had by all. The Warp-o-Meter pegs this site as a 5, but one that is well earned.

Cracked

Growing up, one of the more popular magazines was Mad Magazine. Now those guys were Warped. But many have forgotten that Mad has some competition, and that magazine had it own warp factor. Hit the button below, and find out about that slick magazine.

The magazine was called Cracked. I have to admit, it was that. It didn't have the sophistication of Mad, but that was what gave it the appeal it had. This is the website of those wild and crazy guys, in all of their glory.

The site reflects the character of the magazine. Read the Edgar Allen Poe blog, see what would happen if the Peoples Courts solved our international problems (I would love to see Saddam in front of Judge Judy!), and check out the Busey interview on his own webpage. Like I said, this magazine takes warped to a whole new level. Actually, if they were on the level, they couldn't be warped, so they must not be on a level, 'cause if they were, they couldn't be so cracked, but, well, you know what I mean, don't you?

This site puts the Warp-o-Meter to the number 8, a respectable score of a media outlet that has been with us for years. Next time you're at your news stand, give them the once over.

Link Spectrum

I've been giving some thought to the sites I select for this daily site. Being warped is a relative concept. What is warped to me may not be warped to you, and vice-versa. Today the site is one that, by its own admission is warped, but I thought it was interesting, not warped. But who am I to argue with a webmaster.

The site, Link Spectrum, is a most interesting site. It is one that I would have featured when I did the Family First site had I known about it. The introduction to the site it what really caught my eye:

"You've just found a treasure chest of "goodies"! Here is all the other "stuff" I've found of interest on the WWW! Here you will find the just plain WEIRD, WILD, WACKY & WONDERFUL sites I've come across in my travels! This page is currently being updated. Dead links are blacked out but new ones will be added soon! Enjoy & Happy surfin'!"

What follows is a most comprehensive list of links to all sorts of Internet sites. From Urban Legends and Myths, to Mathematical Riddles, to Ghost Town Site, to a Live On Camera Online site, there is so much here to explore that you will spend hours exploring. I forwarded this site to my office, so I could kill time tomorrow looking at some of the sites, they are that good. The Warp-o-Meter gives this site a 8, mostly for being honest and knowing who they are.

Toast Portraits

You knew that it just would not die out. Not after finding a picture of the Savior on one. To me, it tastes great with butter and some jam. No wonder I'll never own one of the masterpieces from today's Warped site.

Toast Portraits is a small but interesting website that shows off pieces of toast that have, in someone's opinion, a picture of someone on them. Not just anyone, but famous people alive and dead. Elvis, Mona Lisa, and Dean Cain are among them. But that just scrapes the toasted offerings of this site.

You can learn how to create art, and other artful creations. There are sculptures, ceramics, and the weirdest one of all, the Burning Desire. Who says the only thing you can burn is the toast.

This site is a definite 7.5 on the Warp-o-Meter. It shows a lot of promise, and will rate higher once the get a matching portrait of George W. Bush. NOW that would be a work of art.

Ol' Buffalo Computer Humor

The Warped site today covers subjects that we have all thought about at one time or another. Usually when we are at our keyboards. Especially if we have been at our keyboards too long. But it took someone with a warped sense of humor to put it all together.

Called Ol' Buffalo Computer Humor, this site is collection of offbeat and wacky computer material. Want information on the latest computer hoaxes, or viruses (both real and imaginary), this is the site to be at. I especially like the Murphy's Law of computers, and you will to, especially since they all seem so true.

There is a lot of good information here as well, on the different operating systems, and the Palm and Pocket PC platforms. The Easter Egg Archive is fun to share with friends, as is Computer Humor and Urban Legends sections. Before you know it, you'll have spent a few hours on this page.

The Warp-o-Meter hits a 4 on this site. It is a great collection of offbeat material, but, darn it, if you scratch the surface, you find a lot of great material. Well, I'll just have to keep on looking.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

I was driving to work today, and it hit me. The subject for today's Warped site, that is. It didn't hit me physically, but rather it hit when I drove by a local theatre. There it was, right on the marquee. What did I see? Click on the button below and read on.

What was on the marquee was the name of the current movies that were showing. But at the bottom, in smaller letters was "Rocky Horror Picture Show Sat. 12 Midnight". What a wonderfully warped idea for a warped web site.

So I let my Google do the walking and found the most appropriately warped site. What could be more appropriate than the official Rocky Horror Picture Show website. Now you don't have to wait until midnight to hang out with your fellow fans. Here you can find out what is new with the film, background on the movie, find out about memorabilia with a price guide (including how to make your own costumes), and (for the dyed in the wool fans) in-depth analysis Shock Treatment.

This site hits a 9 on the Warp-o-Meter. It has evolved from mainstream cult fandom to My-God-Why-Don't-You-Get-A-Life reality. But to understand the film, you must experience the film. And this Saturday, at a screen close to you, that opportunity will occur. Don't miss out.

This Site Rocks

Today's site come to us courtesy of my email spam filter. But seriously, folks (to coin a Rodney Dangerfield phrase), this site ROCKS!! It says so. It is really off beat, and it does have some adult themes on it. But the entertainment value here qualifies it for the Warped Hall of Fame.

The site name says it all: This Site Rocks. This is a collection of humorous and satirical photos and videos that will leave you ROTFLYAO (for those of you who understand Internet shorthand, you will know what I mean). Some of these are not politically correct, such as "Women are Prone to Accidents" and "Michael Jackson's Most Recent Surgery". But then the "I'm Dead SEXY" photo evens it all out.

The Warp-o-Meter gives this site a solid 9. While some visitors may be offended, most should accept the pictures here for what they are: a reason to laugh at and laugh with ourselves, and have a good laugh. Life is too short to be serious all the time, and this site is anything but serious.

Mathematical LEGO Sculptures

Everybody knows what they are. Everyone has played with them at one time or another (either as a parent or a kid). But today's Warped site takes a look at another use for this everyday childhood toy.

Legos. Everyone has played with them to build spaceships and pirate ships and army forts. But today's website is on that mixes pure mathematics and LEGOs to build some cool looking sculptures.

According to the webmaster, there is a large and active LEGO community on the Internet. He goes on to give some examples (with links to the sites) of what has been done. But rather than competing with those works of art, he made the choice to build a Mobius band. At first by eye, then by writing a computer program to aid in the design and construction of the models, he has achieved some very interesting results. Several are displayed here, along with the technical side of the programs he has written and used. As someone who flunked high school geometry, I won't try and explain it. But the results are impressive.

The Warp-o-Meter gives this site a 7.5, for both originality in concept, and the results that it shows. Some would say that this guy has too much time on his hands. I would say he has used the time he has to create some cool looking art.

Greg's Halloween

Today's Warped site is one that uses the upcoming trick-or-treat season as the basis for it's message. The banner warning on the home page attracted me, and made me want to go in. Now if you would follow me in, maybe you can help me find my way out!!!

The site's name is Greg's Halloween. The line that caught my eye was right under the Warning: "Creepy stuff ahead! Two coffins! NO waiting....". I like that kind of attitude in a warped site. You are also invited to download a really creepy looking font (which I did).

Once you are inside, there are a lot of options for you to explore - if you dare. Try the Gypsy Fortune Teller to see what lies ahead for you! Play some games, just to KILL some time! Of course, there is a way to visit the graveyard (after all, there isn't a haunted site that would be caught DEAD without one! While you are visting the dear departed, you and your friends can join in a chorus of "The Hearse Song".

Well, I'm still looking for my way out of this site. The Warp-o-Meter gives this site a solid 7. It would have been higher, but the meter got scared when we went to THE FUNERAL, and hasn't been itself since then. Maybe you won't be the same after you stop there either. Well, I'll be shoveling off now.....

Hampster Dance

In the '60's there were the Beatles. In the '70's it was ABBA and the Bee Gees. The '80's and the 90's, who can remember. In the first decade of the 2K century, it is the Hampsters! And you think I'm warped, then you should head to the Warped site today.

Called Hampster Dance, this site introduces us to the latest cultural internet fad, The Hampsters. Meet Dixie, Fuzzy, Hado, and Hampton. These cute cuddly animals, but they also sing and dance. You can listen to them here in glorious MP3. There is a game section called Hampster Hijinks, and see who the Hampsters look up to as heroes. There is even a place to learn about the proper care and feeding for a real live hamster.

Be sure and stop by the email department and send some Hampster Love to that special someone, take the Hampster poll, and hang out with fellow followers of the group in the forums area. This site is sending the Warp-o-Meter all over the scale, but it is wavering between a 5 and a 6. So you can decide what it should be when you stop on by.

Smile Jokes

I just have to do it. I knew there was a site out there that could make anyone laugh, no matter what. I appreciate a good joke, one that makes my sides hurt from laughing so hard. I finally found a site that has a great collection of jokes on just about any subject.

The name of the site is Smile Jokes. There are jokes about just about anything you can think of. Computer jokes, Lawyer jokes, Blonde jokes, Political jokes, the list goes on. Some of them are a little off color, or risque, some would say. But they are not degrading or make fun at the expense of the subject. (Well, maybe some of the lawyer jokes do, but what the heck!). I just read one in the medical area that made my wife wonder what I was laughing about. It was five minutes before I could stop laughing to read it to her.

On the Warp-o-Meter, I give this site a 4. But for the laughter it can bring, some may think it is a 9 or 10.

Robot Frank

Today we enter a site that has a biographical twist to it. It is the online journal of Frank. Frank who, you ask. Well, that is the warped twist the site has. Frank is a robot. The rest..., well that is for you to discover on the site.

The is called Robot Frank's Life. It is a simple, blog-like site where Frank shares his unique outlook on life, and what he does from day-to-day, since he doesn't have a job.

There are section to the website. You can meet the important people in his lift in one, while in the another you can read his diary, and look at photos. The pictures have a very 1950's Sci-Fi movie-quality about them, but they are in color and easy to view. In looking at Frank, I think I have seen him or one of his relatives on television before, on The Gong Show. He bears a striking resemblance to the Unknown Comic. (If you are looking to follow that family line, you'll have to do your own Google search).

This site pegs our Warp-o-Meter at a strong 7.5. It would be higher, but Frank was a little shy to talk about his future plans, since he is just learning about web page design. But keep an on his site, it is sure to grow in the future.

The Chancery House

It is October, and one of the more warped holidays we celebrate happens this month. I mean Halloween, of course, that most unusual celebration of ghouls and goblins. So let's enter a haunted house and see just how warped the other side is. Follow me, if you dare!!

The name of the site is The Chancery House. When you first enter the main house (not the secret annex), you are greeted by Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn (no, not the ones you are thinking of). You are given a brief introduction by them, and they invite you to enter the main house. Once there, you can explore to your hearts content. There is a scavenger hunt, a history of the house, in all there are 23 rooms to explore, from the attic to the tower. If you get lost, there are spirits to help you, but they warn you not to get too lost, or you may never be found (like them).

This site has a certain charm about it. There is so much to do, you can spend hours here. The graphics are great, and have a photo realistic quality about them that adds to the atmosphere. This site has a strong 7.5 on my Warp-o-Meter, and the close it gets to Halloween, the higher that rating may go. After all, the could be haunted after a visit to the Chancery House.

Pursuit Alert

Today's Warped site is one that is kinda cool to watch, in the literal sense of the word. It combines the technology of the Internet with the attraction of reality TV. To see what I mean, read on.

The name of the site is Pursuit Alert. This site is a service for people in the Los Angeles California-area, one that tells them when their local media covers live police pursuits. Before, one had to rely on word of mouth, or a "breaking news" alert on the radio. But thanks to today's technology, members can be alerted through a telephone call, or by a pager. This is a free, non-profit service, but they do rely on donations to keep it running. They say members can expect about four chases a month. When the alert is received, they will know they can turn to a local channel, and see all the action.

On the Warp-o-Meter, this site rates an 8 for Los Angeles residents, and a 5 for the rest of us. All I can say is, only in California would you expect something like this.

Hotel Weird

There was a commercial many years ago for an insect repellant. The tag line was: roaches check in, but they don't check out. Today's Warped site has the similar affect on visitors, at least on some of them.

The name of the site is called Hotel Weird. Here you can check out a potpourri of sites that are offbeat, clever, interesting, and, well, I'll let them describe themselves:

"Travel the internet to the strange odd cyber worlds of the most unusual, outrageously weird and wacky websites. Visit our Hotel Weirdness and join in the fun as we rate some of the weirdest, sick, useless, funniest, and just plan stupid websites. Check out how others rank them and put in your two cents. Talk with the Mystical All Knowing Oracle and find out what great wisdom it has for you. Beware, do exactly as it says or you will be cursed and a victim of it's wrath. Are you it's next victim or a recipient of good fortune?"

The all seeing, all hearing, all knowing Oracle hits the old Warped-o-Meter at a solid 8. This site, like the old Raid commercial, will let visitors check in, but won't let them check out, at least until they have had some fun at this site.

The Weird Site

You just knew it had to come to this. I only wonder why it took so long to find it, and even longer to appreciate it. But after spending sometime here, you'll appreciate it too.

Welcome to the Weird Site. That is the name of today's Warped site. Hitting a strong 9 on the Warp-o-Meter, this site has quite a bit of content that can take time to digest, but in the end the trip is worth it. For example, did you know that snakes that are born with two head fight each other for food? If you read this site, you would've.

They have a weird picture of the week (the current one is hilarious, and should make eBay sellers take note), collections of weird sites, daily pictures and toons, as well as a chance to join the "Secret Weird Site Member Club". It costs to join, which I think is weird, but then again, maybe it just separates the weird from the truly weird.

Be sure to check out the Weird News. You'll find stories that the mainstream media most likely missed. Such as the Watergate Building being sold, or drivers filling up at 1955 prices, or the life of luxury that the current Chinese astronauts are living in.

The Original Time Capsule Co.

Have you ever wondered what your great-grandchildren would think of you? Do you wish you could speak to generations that follow you, and share your thoughts with them. Read on, followers of the Warped site, for today we have the answer for you, and you really don't have to be all that off beat.

The name of the site is The Original Time Capsule Company. Here you an create future memories for yourself or for your family. Memories about your wedding, or your children's births and/or weddings. Time Capsules add a personal milestone to your family record and history that won't soon be forgotten. A nice touch is the year-by-year supplements that you can add, just to let the future generations know what was happening when you were growing up (although I don't think there is an explanation for disco!).

The Warp-o-Meter gives this site a 4.5 rating, because while the concept is not totally warped, the content is kind of unique in what it allows you to do.

Warped Humor

What better way to start the week than to have a good laugh. What better way to have a good laugh that with some Warped humor. The site today may be a little short on graphics but is long on guffaw.

The is called Warped Humor. It is a collection of funny, topical humor from everyday life experiences. Some of the subject area are Aircraft Maintenance and Solutions, Actual Product Warnings, Actual Doctor's Medical Notes, and Disorder in the Court.

The laughs here are funny, yet a result of everyday life. For example, in the Aircraft Maintenance section, where actual problems reported by pilots and the results of the maintenance crew, one of my favorites:

Problem: Test flight OK, except autoland very rough
Solution: Autoland not installed on this aircraft.

Or from Product Warnings:

On a bag of Fritos: "You could be a winner. No purchase necessary. Details inside";

or:

On a bar of Dial Soap: "Use like regular soap".

There are hundreds of laughs here, not so much from humor, but from how much they sound like real life, and how we can all relate these situations. The Warped-o-Meter rates this site a 5.5.

Duct Tape Guys

Here it is, late at night, and I am wracking my brain trying to come up with a suitable Warped site to share. Then, like a bolt of lightning (or static build up in my laundry), it hit me. Back in the attic of my mind I recall a site that I had featured on the Family First Site. At that time, I thought the programmer for that site didn't have both of his oars in the water. Now I realize that he does, they are just on the same side of the boat. But now I can share it from a different perspective. So hang on, here we go!

The name of the site is The Duct Tape Guys. This is a wild and crazy site that is about the most fantastic invention of the past 50 years, duct tape. Just to get into the site, you have to select the piece of luggage that belongs to them. That gives you an idea of just how warped this site is gonna be.

This site could be nick named " 1001 Uses for Duct Tape", because if it can be done, has been done, or should be done, they have a link to it here (with the appropriate pictures). How about the 12 Holiday Uses for Duct Tape (bookmark this one for the coming Christmas season), or Duct Tape for NASA (not for the tiles, but for just about everything else!), or my daughter's favorite, Stuck at the Prom Gallery.

These guys have books, bumper stickers, shirts, mugs, just about anything you can think of to promote their site. Make sure you stop by their Duct Tape Pro Shop and check out their seventh book (from their trilogy). In "Stump the Duct Tape Guys", they answer life's most perplexing problems with confidence, unique insight, and breathtaking stupidity.

This site pegs the old Warp-o-Meter with a solid 10, the first site to have done so. It is wild, it is wacky, it is warped, and most of all, it is pure fun.

Television Without Pity

There are so many different types of program on the old boob tube these days that the various TV Guides just can't keep up with all of them. The reality shows, the crime dramas, the various military and political soap operas are just too much. One would have to find a really warped site to keep up with all the happenings not just on the major networks, but the various cable channels as well. That being the case, we present, for your approval, today's Warped site.

Television Without Pity is the name of the site, and it is a breath of fresh air with regards to keeping track of what is going on with television. I like to think of it as TV Guide with attitude, except it really doesn't tell you what is coming, but analyzes what has already happened.

Instead of just giving a brief synopsis of, say, The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, it gives in-depth analysis and editorial commentary of what happened on the show. This tells me that the reviewer has not only seen that episode, but is familiar with the concept of the it. That is important, especially when little things mean a lot to the continuity of a program. After, when the Survivor castaways have to resort to eating ants, you want to know why they, not just that they are. (Well, maybe you don't REALLY want to, but it does add an air of realism to the recapping of a show).

On Rich's Warp-o-Meter, I rate this site an 8, for shear dedication and follow through on the way the site is maintained. You have to be a little warped to write a 12 page recaplet on Lost and have it make total sense.

Interesting Offbeat

I have shared a few of my favorite offbeat, wacky, weird, warped websites over the past few weeks. For the weekend, I thought it would interesting to show a site that has a few of their own sites. What caught my attention was the main banner on the site - it is good advice for everyone to know.

The advice that this website gave that caught my attention was "What to do if an alien appears:". Such advice is hard to find these days, and even harder to appreciate when it is found.

Here there are a few sites such as Dilbert and Peanuts comics, an Antarctic expedition, Internet traffic (from every continent in the world), and a Japanese English translator. What I really liked wit the Acronym Finder. If you can come up with the letters, this site will find what it means. For example, did you know that TRUCK is the Ohio State Patrol language for "Time of observation, Route or location, Unusual activity, Communication to law enforcement and Keep under observation". Cool, huh.

Rich's Warp-o-Meter gives this site an overall rating of 6.5. There are parts that rate higher, parts that rate lower. But you can decide those for your self.

World Wrestling Entertainment

Most of the Warped sites we have visited in the past few weeks have been sites that were designed by one or two folks, trying to promote a certain point of view. Well, today the site that we've selected just goes to show that you don't have to think small to have a really Warped site.

Pro wrestling has long been a spectator sport of millions, and has become one of the largest businesses around. Today's site is the official World Wrestling Entertainment site, or as it was formerly known, the WWF (World Wrestling Federation). Before that it was the WWWF (World Wide Wrestling Federation), and before that who knows. But the participants and spectators have achieved that certain resonance where all things come together for pure fun.

This site explores the current champions John Cena, Ric Flair (still going strong), Chris Benoit, and the various sub-champions. There are clips here, pictures, schedules, just about anything the casual visitor or big time fan would need and want to know about this sports entertainment behemoth.

Don't get me wrong, I like pro wrestling, and this is a wonderful site. The Warp-o-Meter gives it a definite 8.5 on a scale of 10. The only way to make it better would be to have the Hulkster back. But then Hogan knows best, and I don't think we're going to see him anytime soon.

Livermore's Centennial Light

Today's Warped site is a very down to earth one. After yesterday's trip to outer space, I thought a change of pace was in order. Today's site puts a little light on the subject of longevity. In case you're curious, keep on reading.

The site is named Livermore's Centennial Light, and is dedicated to the longest burning light bulb in the history of electricity. This bulb has been in continuous operation since 1901, at first in the fire department hose cart house (that is when the still used horses to pull the engines). It has been moved twice since, finally winding up at the fire station in Livermore California.

Recognized by Guinness Book of World Records as the record holder, it has also been featured as a Ripley's Believe It Or Not, as well as hundreds of other articles, television and radio features. The bulb is available for visiting between the hours of 8am till 5pm Monday through Friday at the fire station. Weekend hours are dependent on the availability of the fire station staff (they may be out fighting fires).

This is a cool site, well presented and interesting to boot. On the Warp-o-Meter, it rates a 5, a good mid-range warped site.

Aliens on the Moon

We have been looking at sites that are weird and wacky and warped since this site started up a few weeks ago. Today, I thought we go out of this world and see what is happening on other planets. Standby for countdown!

The name of the site is called Aliens on the Moon. It is a site that is dedicated to the examination of unusual features on the surface of the Moon, with the possibility in mind that some of them might be artificial (read man-made). Through the use of photographs from National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), made via Projects Apollo, Lunar Orbiter, and Clementine.

Close examination of the Sea of Tranquility (site of the Apollo 11 landing) shows unusual debris located not far from the man's first landing site. There are multiple pairs of double craters, all in alignment. There are some special features on the Mars, but they are so popular that they have dedicated a page just for it.

There are some interesting theories explored here. Being open-minded, it makes one think. This site has registered a 7.5 on Rich's Warp-o-Meter, indicating a fair amount of warped-karma.

The Weirdo Zone

The name of today's Warped site says it all. It is a collection of such a wide range of subjects, that no other title would be appropriate.

Called The Weirdo Zone, this site has a collection of online comics, art, and shrines. There are discussion forums for those who are so inclined to discuss just about any topic that there is.

The section on shrines is a salute to the Women of Anime and Catwoman. (The site also lists a shrine to Star Trek, but when I visited, it seemed to be missing in action). One area that I really enjoyed was the test section. Finally, there is a written test to determine just how weird the test taker is. And there is not just one test but three. The art section has some incredibly talented sketches that show real talent, and are worth a look.

On Rich's Warped-o-meter, this site hits a solid 8. It has some great areas to explore, and will only get better as it is developed.

Drawings to Huff By

The last few days have found the old Warped detector pointing us to sites that were visual in nature. We have seen photographs, animal pictures, and an interesting clown site. Today the detector has us going to another visual site, but on that is a little more creative.

The site's name is Natalie Dee Drawings to Huff by. This site is a real interesting one in that it features original drawings that are quite simple on the surface, but have a meaning hidden within them. There are daily drawings (not a contest, but a picture-type) that are cute to look at.

This is a fun site to visit and just have some fun at. Some of the content is a little risque, so there is a recommendation by the author of limiting it to 18 and older visitors. But judging from the email, all ages have toured the site. The site has new features added every four or five weeks judging by the main page. There is a lot to see and do here, and you can spend a lot of time exploring the links that are spread around the site the one for their dog, Charles. On the ole' Warped rating scale, this site rates a 7, but parts of it are a definite 10. You just have figure out what parts!

Buckaroo's Funny Pictures

Give someone a camera, and they will take photographs. Give someone a computer with Internet access, and they will create a website. Give someone a computer and a camera, and you have today's Warped website.

The name of the site is Buckaroo's Funny Pictures. While Bucky didn't take all of the pictures here, he did go to the trouble of compiling them and then sharing them on the Internet. The variety here is tremendous.

There are some really classic photos here, some of which defy description. There are funny animals, funny people, funny signs, daily cartoons, free games, and a whole collection of links to other funny sites. In addition to the pictures, there are some clever captions that are featured that are topical to the pictures.

Spend some time here, and it could warp your brain. But on Rich's Warped Meter, this site is a strong 8.
